What does being a father mean to you?

Being a father is a privilege to me knowing that you help create something that has the potential to impact the world in a positive way is a great responsibility that i never take for granted. It brings me so much joy knowing that i can actually love something so much and receive that same love back. I’m my kids super hero i wouldn’t change that for nothing in the world!

Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.

My dad was awesome he was super supportive and didn’t mind putting me in my place if i got outta line. He worked hard to provide me and let me know that if you don’t work hard you won’t value things as much. I think that’s how i approached life and anything i give my energy to. I’m going to give whatever I’m involved with 100% nothing less.

What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?

With my dad being such a hard worker like he was means he sometimes had to sacrifice time. It was a difficult struggle for him missing games and events. He definitely help me understand why he couldn’t be at something and that it wasn’t because he didn’t want to be there. So with me being a father i really try to find a really good work/life balance to make sure nothing stops me from attending my kids events or sports

Have you had any obstacles on your fatherhood journey? If so, explain.

Yes! Of course there’s no book on how to become the worlds greatest father lol. That’s life you’re going to make mistakes but the mistake majority of the time is not as crucial as how bounce back from the mistakes. It takes trial and error especially with me having a little girl who’s growing up and seeing how she’s changing so fast and trying not to be so overbearing and creating this peaceful bond so she can express herself. It’s easy with my boys we can be rough and watch sports girls are more gentle

What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?

Be patient and enjoy the ride. You’re going to make mistakes and piggyback off friends and family who already been fathers for a while who can give you good advice

If you wanted to write a quick letter to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would you say?

Dear Father i appreciate the conversations and the life lessons you’ve taught me. Some days i find myself repeating both words and actions you either said or shown me when i was younger. I just sit back and laugh like dang I’m becoming my father lol.
