WE IGNITE THE
POWER OF FATHERHOOD
+ CULTURE

Dear Fathers is The Premiere Media Platform dedicated to telling stories of black fathers from all angles while also empowering our community with tangible resources that inspire, heal, and strengthen the black man.

We create safe spaces for black men that foster community, growth, and healing.

Our stories, content, resources, events, and programming uplifts and equips Black Men/Fathers with the knowledge and opportunities needed to show up at their full potential. We help create engaged communities by activating our 4 Pillars of Mental, Intellectual, Financial, and Physical Health for Black Men.

TURNING PAIN INTO PURPOSE

Founded in 2019 by lifelong friends Jesse Alex, Lamar Johnson Jr., and Brad M. Edwards, Dear Fathers was created from a shared desire to transform pain, absence, and generational barriers into purpose, healing, and cultural change. What began as two childhood friends confronting the void of fatherhood in their own lives has become Dear Fathers, the premiere media and programming platform for Black fatherhood.

Jesse Alex, who grew up without an active father, turned his pain into a passion for storytelling—building a space where Black men are safe to control their narratives, confront their truth, and inspire one another. Lamar Johnson Jr., impacted by the same absence and now a devoted father to two daughters, uses both his past and his fatherhood journey to push the platform forward. His perspective ensures that Dear Fathers remains rooted in identity, representation, and real-life fatherhood experiences.

Brad M. Edwards, whose work centers on fatherhood, community healing, Mental Health and Black maternal health, turned his lived experiences into Dads To Doulas, the groundbreaking program that empowers Black men to advocate during pregnancy, birth, and early childhood—reshaping how fathers show up for moms and babies.
