What does being a father mean to you?
It means the ultimate Crown. No kingdom no home no success no war won feels as complete as securing your child’s smile and future and trust and imitation as they develop into their own.
Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.
It anchors me and drives me more than before. Always was a self-starter but it took me from dreaming to living my wants for my children.
What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?
I’ve had no real parental FEELING growing up as a child. My mother was a provider not maternal. I lost her at 15 to her abandonment and never had my pops but met him at 13. Lost them to their Gods, religion and drugs. My Family and purpose therefore became all left worth fighting for. So I fight.
Have you had any obstacles on your fatherhood journey?
Scorned hearts tend to use a child and freedom and financial scares to inflict pain. One day she’ll love me again but this time it’ll be for the way I love our Son.
What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?
Accept your children. They DO NOT NEED MOLDS bc they’re ALREADY SERVED TO US COMPLETE, what they need is guidance and safe places to learn about and adjust to Life. Give them your time ears and attention. They’ll come back showing you pieces of their world they’ve conquered.
If you wanted to write a quick note to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would it be?
You’re a Sucka but I thank you for making me realize you are and why I’m celebrated for being a Man w/o your help getting here. Heal and have courage.
Name 5 fathers you cosign.
