What does being a father mean to you?
Being a Father means being strong, addressing your weaknesses with God and praying for Him to give you wisdom on them, being there for your Wife/spouse whenever she needs you, being the first role model for your children to look after, whether you hit or miss you’re still staying ten toes down in the game of fatherhood, and keeping your family protected in every area from spirituality to home comfort to finances to physically being there day in and day out.
Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.
My father was always active with me, reassuring, instilling confidence in, kept me strong in my faith, gave me the necessary and unnecessary pats on the back, and was there for my mother whenever she was sick or not feeling well enough to care for my sister and I. These things molded my mind and gave me basically a script of how to do this when I get older and have my own family. It was like the blueprint and he left room enough for me to do it my way.
What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?
Owning up to my faults, apologizing even when you’re not in the wrong, having faith and acting on it, though my dad was prideful that fought me to be more humble and to resist any form of pride, pride sometimes made him feel he was always right but when he humbled himself he saw how everyone else was impacted as well. Support is a big one that sticks with me to this day, being there for your family no matter what your past may have been. And just going to get what it is you want in life, don’t doubt it just pray about it and take a step forward.
What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?
Support your Wife/spouse (whatever the title is the mother of your child has) because life is tough for her going through hormone changes, body changes, breastfeeding etc. One thing about having a child and being the Father, we will never know and never in our life experience what they went through for those 9 months and even the recovery stage after! Supporting the mother of the child is crucial. And as far as gathering your child, just be everything you can be to them. Be their superhero, someone they can look up to physically lol and spiritually/ mentally for the rest of their days. We are there to protect and guide, do it as if God is right over your shoulder managing you on the job. Do it with excellence. Love on your kids better, and make it so that no one can ever top your love

Dear Father,
Thank you for every aspect and viewpoint you gave me on being a father. You exemplified what hard work and love truly looks like by just being present and loving on my sisters and I!
