4 is not entering music quietly. He is building momentum with numbers behind it.
His latest single “No Matter What” is officially a Billboard charting record, gaining national traction with airplay across the country according to Mediabase and rotation on SiriusXM’s The Heat. The release follows his previous single “Perfect Timing,” which went viral and reached No. 34 on Billboard’s Urban chart, establishing that this momentum is consistent rather than momentary.
Produced by Erique Adams, known professionally as Thizaezbeat, “No Matter What” is a Hip Hop anthem that is a declaration of loyalty and support. No matter the struggle, no matter the mood, the bond between two people remains unbreakable.”
Long before this chapter, 4 understood performance under scrutiny. Known to sports audiences as Danuel House Jr., he rose through Houston’s Hightower High School and Texas A&M before competing in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers and Houston Rockets. That discipline translates. In music, it becomes structure, patience, and calculated execution.
Houston’s Fourth Ward shapes his cadence and perspective. There is Southern weight in the storytelling and clarity in the rollout. Under 4DHouse Entertainment, 4 is not chasing visibility. He is building a long-lasting quality foundation.
What makes this evolution compelling is not simply the transition from professional athlete to recording artist. It is the recalibration of elite focus into creative control. It is also an ode to Houston. With Billboard chart placements, multi market radio support, and growing cultural presence, 4 is positioning himself for longevity.
Tell us about your process going from NBA player to music artist?
The transition wasn’t random—it was already in me. Basketball gave me structure, discipline, and a platform, but music was always how I expressed what I was going through. Once I realized the same work ethic that got me to the NBA could apply to music, I locked in. Film sessions turned into studio sessions. I approach music like the league—study, repetition, execution. I’m not playing artist… I’m building something real.
What are some similarities between those who pursue music and those in the NBA?
It’s the same grind, just a different stage. Everybody want it—but not everybody built for it. You gotta stay disciplined when nobody watching, handle pressure and criticism, and stay consistent even when results ain’t instant. Talent gets you noticed—but work ethic keeps you there.

Tell us more about what inspired your latest single ‘No Matter What.’?
“No Matter What” came from loyalty, pain, and growth. It’s about standing solid through everything—family, struggles, wins, losses. I’ve seen both sides… and that song is me saying, regardless of what happens, I’m still standing on who I am and who I’m doing it for. It’s bigger than music—it’s a mindset.
Who is Danuel House Jr. as a father?
I’m present. I’m intentional. I’m a provider and a teacher. My kids not just seeing success—they seeing the process. I want them to understand discipline, respect, and ownership early. Being a father is my most important role—everything else comes after that.

How has your relationship with your dad shaped the man you are today?
It taught me what strength and responsibility look like. Whether it was lessons, discipline, or just seeing how he moved—I took that and built on it. It made me understand that being a man is about showing up, standing on your word, and taking care of what’s yours.
Define what legacy means to you.
Legacy is what lives on when you’re not in the room. It’s not just money—it’s how your kids carry themselves, what your name stands for, and the impact you leave behind. I’m building something my family can stand on forever.
How have your kids inspired you on your journey in basketball and music?
They’re the reason I don’t fold. When you have people depending on you, quitting isn’t an option. They push me to elevate—financially, mentally, spiritually. Every move I make is about what it sets up for them.

How do you balance being the best dad you can be while chasing your dreams?
It’s about priorities and structure. When I’m with my kids—I’m fully there. When I’m working—I’m locked in. I give 100% to both. That’s the balance—being intentional with your time.
Finish this statement: No matter what, I’ll do _______ for my kids
No matter what, I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure they never have to struggle like I did—and still teach them how to be strong without it.
