T.L. Wynne Says “fatherhood is one of the greatest opportunities that I’ve been given in my lifetime”

Name: T.L. Wynne City: Atlanta GA

What does being a father mean to you?

To me fatherhood is one of the greatest opportunities that I’ve been given in my lifetime. Being able to experience life with a growing child who loves you unconditionally and depends on you unintentionally, has challenged me to grow daily as both a father and as a man.

What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?

Be patient with yourself, you won’t always get it right. Be patient with your child, because they won’t always get it right.

If you could write a quick letter to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would you say?

As a father I try to be a good listener. Raising a daughter on my own, I always wanted her to feel that she could have a conversation with me about anything, even the uncomfortable conversations. Over the years, it has allowed me to gain an understanding on her view of the world, and provide guidance when necessary. So listening to elementary school ”drama” today, will hopefully allow these open conversations to continue over the years, something I wish I had growing up with my parents.
