What does being a father mean to you?
What being a father means to me, Its everything to me! Being a father give me joy! Give me hope! The love you get from your kids is unmatched, that unconditional love, that love no one can take from you! I just admire everything about being a father, the responsibility, being able to teach ur kids right from wrong, make sure they don’t make the same mistake you made growing up! We can show them the right way! Being a father is everything make u just grind harder no matter how hard life gets! Ur kids suppose to give you life.
Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.
I never had a father growing up! That’s what really impacted me to be the best father I can be because I ain’t have one, it hurts when I use to see kids with their father, I always wanted a father to show me the way, help me work on my basketball skill, because I was really good, but it taught me a lot growing up, that every child needs their father, but I understand things happens for a reason, my father was on drugs so I see why god ain’t allow him to be in my life, it made me stronger! When I had my twin girls they change my life as a man! Now I know what being a father really stand for!
What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?
Will it’s not a lot of negative things to say other then being with the mother of my child, Everything was perfect but everything not meant to be, it’s all about growth and learning how to become better and treat the ones you love better, I’ll say my experience growing up in fatherhood had to be just spending time with ur kids, understand you have to be patient with them let them learn them selfs, the things like to do, also teaching them early so they can already be great at everything they do, or love to do I know it’s not easy at first but it’s easy when you enjoy every moment of seeing them grow up.
Have you had any obstacles on your fatherhood journey?
Yes I did! It was had once me and they mother split, it was hard to see my twin girls, sometimes she wouldn’t even let me see them, not because I’m a bad father because females get bitter sometimes, I understand it’s outta hurt, but I’m happy that I don’t go through that not more, she see how much my kids love me, and I’ll do anything for them, I’ll go to war for mine, lol but never give up on ur kids no matter what fight to be in their life’s, be positive be a man stand up love them and never let them go!! God bless thank you.
What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?
I’ll say be ready to take on responsibility! Be ready to grind hard for ur newborn that’s gone need you! Understand that ur a father now and you have to think different, you gotta be better for them! Just enjoy and love every moment of it! Spend time with ur child, god will bless you and help you along the way, give that baby everything you ain’t have growing up.
If you could write a quick letter to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would you say?
Dear father I wish you was in my life, I wish you could’ve saw how talented I was growing up, how passionate I was about everything I did, I just wish we had time I got to know you, just to see was I like you! I’m happy that I meet you wen I was 24, and I’m happy that ur ok and getting better, I will forever love you because u made me a better man by not being in my life! I have no hate but love for you! Never tho u wasn’t in my life I thought about you everyday, just praying u come save me and push me to greatness, but god help me and showed me the way and help me become a great man! I love you and I will become somebody that help the world and men to inspire them, help them grow into their full potential, I will love you DAD.
