What does being a father mean to you?
Everything.
Being blessed with a responsibility and gift to mould/teach/impact My Daughter’s life positively everyday.
Everything man,
Knowing She depends on me and My presence/Existence makes Her Happy,
It’s Magical… really hard to put the feeling into words,
It means everything man
I Love it.
Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.
Non existent.
He was hardly around,
I was raised by my Mom
He passed when I was 16,
I guess you learn exactly what not to do from watching other people.
What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?
I Just took a stand .
Never neglect or fail Mines ever.
Be there, be present every step of the way.
It was that simple
Have you had any obstacles on your fatherhood journey?
I moved to the UK by myself,
Didn’t have any family here, so no real support system or stand by Help.
Me and My Daughter’s Mother split up before she turned 2,
It was tough… custody battles, constantly having to fight my way through to see my child. Raising her separately, trying to be cordial & amicable.
What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?
Soak it all up, be present, Be silly, talk to you kids about any and everything the wanna talk about. enjoy every moment of it, you’ll make mistakes but it’s okay.
If you could write a quick letter to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would you say?
Dear Father,
It’s all good, i understand.
You’d be so proud of Remi, She’s awesome…
She’s does it, she smart, she like art, dance, got a mean jumpshot & she got a dope sense of fashion too.
Want you to know We alright,
Hope you rest well.
