What does being a father mean to you?
Being a father mean to me a lot different things but the most important one is TIME. You can be the richest or the poorest father out your kids don’t care about none of the that specially if they young they don’t even know what that is but if you there in their life giving them TIME that’s all that matter to them so being that’s what being a father mean to me having TIME.
Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.
My experience growing up with my father was so so, meaning he was there in my life but at the same time he wasn’t and I that’s only because my father was a hard working man who took on way to much. He had to take care of his family, and then his own family such me and my siblings all at once so it was hard to really have that real father time that a young kid would need. He definitely supported us with whatever we needed but time is everything that u can’t get back. So that’s why i am the way I am i try to make everything my kids doin and be there for them and that’s hard to do because you can’t make or do everything specially if you have a kid in a different house hold, but long as the effort is there im just a lil ok with that.
What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?
so some things I took from my experience growing up was being a hard working and making time as well you must have a balance. I work hard because I hate to really tell my kids no or I can’t really do what I want to do with them like when we do go out even though that doesn’t matter to them but I want both for them. So balance is something I took and communicate with my kids as they growing up.
Have you had any obstacles on your fatherhood journey?
Just having more than one child mother you will always have obstacles on your father hood. I have two children mother and sometimes you can’t make certain stuff or do something because you might be doing something with the other child so u miss out on things and it makes you feel like shit. And that’s one thing I really talk to my son a lot about, and that’s only if u can try ya hardest to only have one household one kids mother even thou things happen so it don’t always workout that way.
What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?
the real important advice that I will give is always have TIME for ya kids no matter how busy ya life is or whatever you have going on make sure to make time.
If you could write a quick letter to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would you say?
I would just say Dear father I appreciate and understand all the sacrifice you did for me and my siblings and I love you to death understand ya position with us growing up and we still turn out good and thanks for planting being a hard working and handling our responsibilities in us ? LOVE YOU POPS
