What does being a father mean to you?
Being a father to me means Leadership. I chose that. Word because children follow the lead of a parent they emulate what they see . I have been blessed to have three beautiful daughters whom are my world. So I show them how a man should love and treat them, so when the time comes they expect nothing less then that.
Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.
Became a father at 22 scared not knowing what the next day would hold. But I had a man in my life since I was six years old my Bonus father who raised me on love and I followed his leadership. So I was ready in a sense to love and nurture it may me a better father over the years as I had two more,I am very hands on with my girls.
What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?
I learned from a young age when times get rough never let your kids suffer when things do not work out with the other partner. Your role as a parent is to be there always no matter the cost, nor the time. You are committed to your kids.
Have you had any obstacles on your fatherhood journey? If so, explain.
Yes my divorce was tough and my ex wife and I didn’t see eye to eye so it made the journey difficult but serving a mighty God some things went on my favor.
What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?
Just be smart and remember your task at hand is parenthood do not let obstacles that become allow you to take it out on your kid(s), they should not suffer at all
If you wanted to write a quick letter to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would you say?
|Dear Father, thank you for the gift of life, it’s Been two years since you left. It two years too soon. I wish we had more time together we bashed out our differences but we needed more time to build and for you to be a grandfather to your kids|
Name some other fathers you cosign.
