#1000FearlessFathers: @LastNameGood Says Being a Father is Fear. It’s Celebration. It’s Expectation. It’s Dedication.

What does being a father mean to you?

Being a father is everything. It’s purpose. It’s fear. It’s celebration. It’s expectation. It’s dedication.

Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.

My father and I have a great relationship to this day. In fact he taught me so much without me even knowing. His parenting skills were passive but meaningful. Teaching me how to be a man number one, but also living by example and allowing me to see his successes and failures taught me how to be a father. It’s transparency as well as a sense of urgency to be present.

What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?

Don’t try to be perfect and please don’t try to figure it all out today. Know that you will make mistakes and the most important thing is being there for your child. In the words of Premium Pete: Presence over presents.

If you wanted to write a quick note to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would it be?

Dear Father, thank you for sparking a mind to lead a generation. Thank you for your time and your words. Thank you for your courage and sacrifice.
