DADS TO DOULAS ADDRESSES THE HIGH INFANT MORTALITY RATE AMONG BLACK BABIES
Dads to Doulas aims to equip black men and expectant fathers with the knowledge and skills to advocate for their families from pregnancy through infancy. By providing doula-level education, we strive to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates.
Dear Fathers recognizes the profound impact this can have on our community and strives to empower our families from the very start. Our one of a kind doula program is specifically designated to assist, encourage, support, de-stress, maintain, and educate black men and fathers in Maternal and Paternal care.
MATERNAL & INFANT MORTALITY
Black women are up to 3 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes compared to white women. The mortality rate for Black infants is nearly twice that of white infants in our region. The core of the program is building a community and safe space for men/fathers for real time learning opportunities that will increase the understanding of how and why systemic racism affects unborn Black children. Dads to Doulas serves as a hub for the healing and empowerment for families, equipping them with tools and resources with the intention to increase the likelihood of infant survival.
OUR VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING IS DESIGNED TO EDUCATE BLACK FATHERS ABOUT THE TOOLS NEEDED TO FULLY ENGAGE IN THE BIRTHING PROCESS.
OUR 6 WEEK COURSE INCLUDES:
WE ALSO OFFER TWO HOUR WORKSHOPS EDUCATING YOUR ORGANIZATION/STAFF/MEMBERS ABOUT MATERNAL HEALTH.
OUR OVERALL GOAL IS TO INTENTIONALLY EQUIP AND SUPPORT EXPECTING DADS WITH TOOLS TO BIRTH AND RAISE A HEALTHY BABY, IN TURN, CREATING HEALTHIER COMMUNITIES.

Dads in Delivery is our written storytelling campaign connected to our Dads to Doulas program where some amazing Fathers share their physical, mental, and emotional experience when bringing their kids into the world.
This program prepared me for the birth of my first born and gave me the tools to support my wife in a way I would've never imagined.
