What does being a father mean to you?
Being a father means to me that you are provider at the highest height. For example as a father one must be able to provide the child with knowledge how to navigate in this world. To me Being a father also means being supportive, meaning encouraging the child to be the best he or she can be.
Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.
What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?
The biggest thing I learned from my father, is that as a dad you must be willing to sacrifice and be selfless.
What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?
Me being a brand new dad what I’ve learned thus far is you must be very patient with the process, especially in the very beginning. However there will be some good and bad days but it’s all worth it.
If you could write a quick letter to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would you say?
Dear father,
Thank you for giving me LIFE. Thank you for loving me unconditionally. Dad you are the reason I have become who I am today, you instilled in me all the keys to life. You supported me in everything I did in life, you are my biggest fan and most importantly my biggest critic. At no point in life you ever lied to me even if it would hurt my feelings, it built me to be a Man. I am forever grateful for you. Thank you for being my real life super hero.
Love, Jamal
