What does being a father mean to you?
Taking care of my daughter, being her protector, provider, teacher of life, making sure she has clothes on her back, a roof over her head and food in our fridge, so she can never go hungry. I am the hunter & the gatherer.
Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.
As a child I lived with my dad and he worked very hard to provide for his family. That gave me a good foundation of knowing what needs to get done to be the man of the house.
What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?
My father had very strict rules to abide by in his house, we had to make sure we always completed our homework, stayed out of trouble, and the circle of the kids we surrounded ourselves with was always important.
Have you had any obstacles on your fatherhood journey?
The only obstacles is learning to be patient, every baby is different and things won’t always go the way that you planned them. Learning to cope with the changes and be patient and remain calm in every situation.
What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?
Always remember to keep God first in everything that you do. Be patient, be kind & love your children %120 every single day.
No matter how old they get, never stop loving your children.
If you could write a quick letter to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would you say?
Dear father, thank you for raising me the way that you did.
