Tell us more about who you are and what you do?
I’m Rich, a father, a visionary , and a serial entrepreneur. In short, I create jobs for a living.
What inspired you to start the Rich & Pour Brand?
I’m a creative, and for me, business is my canvas. In 2020, I acquired a physical location and recognized the area’s need for an elevated urban experience. I embraced the challenge, designed, and transformed the shabby space into Rich and Pour. A place to celebrate the black excellence in our offerings as well as in our experience.
Tell us how you balance Fatherhood and Entrepreneurship?
I’m a successful businessman because of fatherhood. I included my children in my business life via bringing them along to age appropriate business meetings and or including them in age appropriate projects within the structure of the business and employee then thru the business.
Who is Rich Dillard as a Father?
My father taught me how to be a man. My children taught me how to be a better man. Me being a father is the genesis of my current level of success.
What’s one thing you’ve learned about yourself since being an entrepreneur?
I’ve learned that I’m not the most talented but I am the most resilient and willing. Those two factors have sustained me and has catapulted me to success.
What’s one thing you’ve learned about yourself since becoming a father?
I’ve learned how important I am. I matter because I am a father. Fatherhood is the most important position I’ll ever hold.
Any advice to any other single black fathers?
Take a moment to look in the mirror and consider your actual importance. How you were responsible for creating a human life and your impact in nurturing that life. Creating life is the same thing GOD did with human experience-You’re a reflection of God as a father.
Tell us more about Winter Whiskey Wonderland and why you started it?
The Winter Whiskey Wonderland is a unique opportunity for RNP & Drink Black collaboration with the vision to celebrate single fathers in a way both men and women can appreciate. The appreciation of whisky/bourbon is recognized across gender and sex. WWW is an evening of fellowship and cocktails at Rich & Pour celebrating single fathers and a toast to black owned whiskey/bourbons. Get your tickets here.
