Eddie Moore Talks Pagoda Spice Bar, Fatherhood, and More.

Tell us more about who you are and what you do?

What it do! My name is Eddie Moore. I’m a father of 3 beautiful little brown girls. Husband, Visionary, Servant Leader, Dreamer… my current profession is IT project manager. I love anime, castles, wandering around anywhere with something to see. I’m a hopeless romantic, a modest beekeeper & nerd. I love geeking out and going down rabbit holes on subjects I find interesting. I love peace of mind, for my myself and my family. I stay true to myself, as much as I can, and hope to inspire people to do the same.

What inspired you to start the Pagoda Spice Bar brand?

I’ve wanted to own a distillery since my sophomore year in college. I didn’t know what steps needed to be taken in order to get it going. As luck would have it, I was working on a spirits presentation for a football guy looking to have his own sprits brand. I was hoping that working with him would be the seed money I needed to get my own distillery situated. The project never came to fruition and I ended up having several gallons of finished bourbon sitting around. I decided to sell it off to recoup some money. The sales and reviews were really good so I decided to try it again. When the second batch sold out I decided to commit to the goal and get things in order. Thus The Pagoda Spice Bar was born.

Tell us how you balance Fatherhood and Entrepreneurship?

Sheeeeeesh… am I balancing it? “Balance” is all speculation for me right now. I grew up with a dad who was an entrepreneur. I loved seeing him in that light. It was so inspiring. I also loved that he would let me work for him and make some cash during the school year. I hope to emulate that for my girls. I hope they can find some inspiration being around me, in my element. I do my best to included them in my work and my sales. I think seeing both the work and the admiration, gives the seeds for aspiration and appreciation. There’s a lot more for them to learn and I hope I can always use my journey to showcase lessons for when they set out on their own.

Define “Legacy” to you?

Leaving behind something better than you found it, for someone else to appreciate. Hopefully build upon.

Who is Eddie as a Father?

What’s one thing you’ve learned about yourself since being an entrepreneur?

Dreaming is easy, executing is hard, committing is simple, the journey is beautiful.

What’s one thing you’ve learned about yourself since becoming a father?

I was more broken than I ever imagined.

As a Father, do you think it’s important for you to show your children the business side of things and why?

Of course! I think to see the hard parts of business and how you persevere shows them the skill in action.
