What does being a father mean to you?

Fatherhood is a multiplicity of things, ever-changing ever learning ever-growing, but constantly trying and never giving in or up. The best way I can describe it the way it means to me is trying to implement what being a good father is from my God Almighty who has father in me because He is the only point of reference.

Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.
My father wasn’t around too much when I was born and then shortly there after he passed away with cancer when I was three years old so I barely knew him, my stepfather was around until I was about seven then when he split with my stepmom he sold everything we had for drugs. Looking back on that I’ve always wanted to be the best father I could be to let my daughters know I am not my past mistakes, instead I am my future successes and one day they will inherit what I work my hands to the bone for.

What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?

I was going to be 16 when I lost my first daughter, and almost seem like everyone in the world said that I wasn’t ready but I knew that I was about eight years later my oldest was born Jesseny. I wanted to take my time and enjoy every moment with her it change my perception on everything when she was born I was actually able to be a father, and I have learned a great deal my primary job is to lead love protect and guide

Have you had any obstacles on your fatherhood journey?

Yes I’ve had many different obstacles may be the most significant one is the break up between my ex girlfriend which is both of daughter’s mother, it absolutely hindered me emotionally which made not want to do anything physical or mental, God the Almighty was my point of reference on my walk back to the path of righteousness and obedience I ask for wisdom and he gave me the tutelage I needed to take care of my girls there’s nothing more I could ask for but what do you said tools I am constantly building a new from the ground up, God is rebuilding my foundation so that I can build as tall is the skyscraper

What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?

Compassion, trust, patience, intellect, Grace, mercy, comfort. Is some of the things that I needed as well as learned that help me on my fatherhood journey another thing was to make future investments for my girls “(daughters) before they are born so when their age come to pass they have the financial investment to be seize the right opportunity and build a legacy of which you and your family will be proud of for generations to come.

If you could write a quick letter to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would you say?

Dear father, I know that we haven’t really met and I didn’t really know you: but as the late grandfather to my daughters, I will be there as you wish you could be for me. and I just didn’t know as a father it’s your job to protect your family wearing the weight of the world on your shoulders without an blueprint or a cheat sheet or maybe just a pair of caring eyes that will sympathize for you. I know you were in heaven looking down and I wanna say that I love you I’m proud of you. I Carry the torch now . May God fill me with the Holy Spirit to direct my steps, so I can make the difference that I want to see in the world, It starts with me and I’m going to set the bar high
