What does being a father mean to you?
Being a father to me means all those long days and hard nights working, sick, tired, to see the smile radiate from my kids when I come through the door makes everything else fade away and nothing else matters. I’d lay it all on the line just to keep them safe.
Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.
It was good, We really didn’t have much but he worked himself into the ground to make sure that we did have enough. He was a police officer so growing up I learned what it took to be a man, a leader, and a father
What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?
To be a leader fair and partial in the household and instill morals, values, and self-respect into my kids early.
Have you had any obstacles on your fatherhood journey?
Hard times, with my daughter in the ICU really pushed the faith and also gave me renewed faith.
What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?
Stay prayed up, and dont let the small things get you down. Remember the only thing that can stop you is you. God chooses special people to father great children
If you could write a quick letter to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would you say?
Thank You, I could say that until I’m blue in the face but mere words would’nt be enough. I gotta show it by the way I raise my children.
