What does being a father mean to you?
Being a father to me means sharing that unconditional, shameless love for the children that look up to us as protectors, mentors/role models or even as heroes.
Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.
My father was always there for me from the time I was born until this present day! He’s always showed belief in me no matter what and always add sure I was passionate at any and everything I do.
What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?
What I take from my experience being a father is, you don’t have to fully understand how to be a great father when they come into this world. There’s so many mistakes that we’re bound to make as they grow. But, no matter how young or old we are, we have an opportunity to grow in wisdom. As a family.
Have you had any obstacles on your fatherhood journey?
In August of 2019, A portion of our house caught on fire while my babygirl was in the house taking a nap. I was awake and while working on music I smelled smoke & as I looked up I saw smoke and fire that was coming through the tiles on the floor. Fortunately, I was able to get my daughter out of the house before the flames and smoke increased but that experience was more traumatic than I’d ever encountered as a father.
What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?
Be you & Be happy.
If you could write a quick letter to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would you say?
Dear Father, Without you being there over the years and the experience you’ve made it for me and my siblings, I wouldn’t know where to start. Ever since I could even remember the lessons you’ve given me has helped mold me into a stronger man and much better father. A price could never amount to the appreciation I have for you pops! Love you man.
