What does being a father mean to you?
Being a father means everything to me. It means making the world a better place by showing my kids how to be better people. It helps me solidify my identity and gives me a strong why.
Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.
My father left the home when I was about 11. But while he was there we didn’t really have a relationship. Maybe it was the language barrier or him just not being interested in hanging out with me. Either way he inspired me to but my son over my friends and to not chase women.
What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?
Just the hungry and happiness it brought me. Having kids has really given me this focus on work and this sense that I’ll never be alone cause they have my back.
Have you had any obstacles on your fatherhood journey?
Dealing with my child’s mother has been difficult. Co parenting is one of the most difficult things I’ve had to do as a father.
What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?
Appreciate every moment expect to make Mistake and provide time now so you don’t have to later. What I mean by this invest alot of time with your kids now so you don’t have to later.
If you could write a quick letter to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would you say?
Dear father, I wish you would have taught me more and spent more time with me. But as a man now I understand how hard it was for you to raise four boys especially being so young. And I love that you model having a great work ethic. Also thank you for teaching me how to drive that definitely changed my life.
