What does being a father mean to you?
Being a father to me is being an active listener, entertainer and companion through life’s journey with your child/children. It’s not JUST about being a financial supporter but being their for the mental aspect too.
Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.
Yo so like my pops was the GOAT at everything he did. He was in the military and a pastor, a city councilman(ALOT OF HATS) but growing up, there is not a BEAT that he missed in my life. He was at all of the School band events, the pop Warner games, the musical concerts, just EVERYTHING. I still have moments in my head of the things he impacted me as a father figure that play into this great role that I was handed.
What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?
Church was first
Family was second
Self Mental was third
Work comes last. Work will be here forever but the first three are time sensitive and require more focus to achieve the best result
Have you had any obstacles on your fatherhood journey?
Yes. BUT ONLY ONE:
How can I teach my son how to play baseball because I’ve never played lol
What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?
You’re raising a reflection of youre.
No one has the right answers but just remember yourself that when your child leaves this home for college.
What impact on their life did you make for them to know what the definition of a Father is.
If you could write a quick letter to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would you say?
Dear Father,
I appreciate every single lesson, move, sacrifice you have made and are continuing to make in my life. Seeing you as a Grandfather is even more inspiring. You’ve made an impact while raising me and I will make sure my children’s children will do the same and so on.
Love,
THE 2nd GOAT; Your Son
