What does being a father mean to you?

To me it means the world. The joy of watching my kids coming into this world, is a joy that can only come from God. The greatest feeling ever. Watching my kids grow and become young man and woman means a lot.

Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.

My father suffer from substance abuse. It impacted my life both positively and negatively.. I blame my failures on my father. But I wished I had him there. That’s why I go hard for my kids. To make memories that I wished my dad could have done for me.

What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?

One word I can describe is THERE. Being there for my kids in every way possible. Sharing my life experiences with them.

What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?

To always be there. Never give up, your kids are worth fighting for

If you could write a quick letter to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would you say?

My dad passed away in 2017…. all I would say is I love you, no matter what I thank God for you. I hope that I can make you proud.
