Take us through your thoughts the moment you realized your child was ready to come into this world.
It’s our first born so for a few hours the nurses were saying “yes, you’re only 4cm dilated.” but within a half hour after them saying that, my girlfriend jumped to 10cm dilation! Our eyes and facial expressions were like a kid in a candy store! We were so jolly! I started pacing back & forth because I was so eager and excited to finally meet my daughter!
What were your physical, mental, and emotional feelings while in the delivery room as your child was entering the world.
Man, I was mentally stable because I had to be strong for all of us; but once things settled down, it hit me harder. There were so many emotions that I expressed for the way in which she given me happiness and there were so many metaphors that I could apply to this relationship.
Describe what it felt like holding your child for the first time?
Greatest feeling in the world. It’s weird, but holding my child for the first time I felt so calm, relaxed, and a feeling of so much pressure being released from me. It’s weird but I can say it’s quite a experience. You’ll see.
Do you have any advice for fathers who are expecting for the first time?
Future fathers, be patient no matter how tired/hungry you get. Be there for your lady 100% and keep her calm while in labor sooth her, encourage her. Be her biggest fan.
Seeing your child for the first time is literally the best feeling in the world. I heard people say it but didn’t quite understand it until I actually experienced it.
