What does being a father mean to you?

It means the WORLD! It is phenomenal being a father even with the lack of sleep that it has brought

Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.

I grew up in a single parent household. My father was around but not constantly. There would be weeks sometimes months I would go without seeing him. That experience has taught me to want to be there when my children wake in the morning and when they go to bed at night. My wish is to have them never wander where I am and will be able to call me and have an immediate response to be able to play, read, explore, or just take a nap.

What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?

Ensuring that I make myself available at all times to answer questions, play, and explore.

What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?

Be present
Be available
Be supportive
Be creative
Be PATIENT

If you could write a quick letter to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would you say?

Dear father,

Thank you. Thank you for showing me the other side of fatherhood. Thank you allowing me to cultivate my maturity and allowing me the time to develop as a person, husband, and most importantly a father. I now know to invest in my children all I have financially, emotionally, and spiritually. I look forward to seeing their development and proud that God blessed me to be their guardian on earth.
