What does being a father mean to you?

Being a father means creating a Legacy. Putting someone before yourself and doing the best you can do to make your child the Queen or King they were meant to be.

Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.

Me and my Father relationship is great I’ve always had my Father in my life we’ve been best friends since day 1. He’s my go to whenever I need some advice or just someone to vent to we can have a drink and talk about life. Having my father in my life helped me as a father because I know how important that bond is. And how important it is to be active in your child’s life.

What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?

One thing I took from my experience is always just showering your child with love. I was loved by my parents so I feel it’s important to give your child a lot of love and attention. My daughter is only 10 months but I have a daily routine about letting her know she’s beautiful she’s a queen even though she doesn’t understand it now she’ll grow up having her dad praise her as a Queen and that will set the standard for her as she grows knowing her worth and accepting nothing less.

Have you had any obstacles on your fatherhood journey?

One obstacle I had was I had to fight for the rights for my child. One thing my Father taught me is never let anything stop you from being a father. Some men get discouraged and don’t fight for their rights and that causes them to not be around to raise the child and that only hurts the kids. Seeing my child every other weekend or anything like that isn’t enough for me I have to raise my daughter daily and my daughter deserved to have her father raise her too. I take pride and fighting for my child and getting my rights to be able to be an active father on the daily and raise her to be the Queen she is going to be. I’m thankful and blessed I love raising my daughter.

What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?

I would advise Fathers to just be active be involved. Fathers play an important role on how our kids turn out. A lot of men and women that don’t have fathers grow up lost and they fall into a lot of traps because they’re looking for that love they didn’t have. I advise all fathers to just be there raise your kids do your best they’ll will always love you no parent is perfect but your child will respect you and love you for being there every step of the way. Never let anything stop you from being apart of your child’s life.

Dear Father I love you for everything you’ve done for me. I’m blessed and thankful to have you in my life and also for being the best grandad to my daughter. I’m blessed my daughter has a grandfather she knows will always be there for her and will always be able to count on. Thank you for being my best friend I love you Pop! ??
