What does being a father mean to you?

It means everything. I always wanted to be a father and had a good example of what a father is suppose to be. Soon as my daughter entered this world I couldn’t stop the tears from falling. Best moment of my life.

1000 fearelss fathers-dear fathers

Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.

My father was great. I always felt loved and even tho he didn’t have much he did the best he could with what he had. Holidays where the best. Him coming to my football games never missing not one. Greatest man I know.

What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?

I think what I took most is just never give up. I really dont have any patience. And I have a temper at times. So dont give up as fast as working on myself control and just stepping back from stressful situations and approach them with a level head instead of yelling and with a attitude.

Have you had any obstacles on your fatherhood journey? If so, explain.

During this pandemic it’s been very stressful. My daughter was born right when everything started. I had to go back to work a week after she was born. Her mom wasnt working so I was responsible for our entire house hold which consisted of my nephew, her oldest daughter, me and her, plus our new born. So its alot of stress and obstacles but we are getting buy.

What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?

Mannnnnn. Just have alot of patience and understanding. Not just with the child but with the mother, grandparents, friends, everyone. People are going try to give you all types of advice but just do your best and do what best for your child.

If you wanted to write a quick letter to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would you say?

Dear Father, thank you for always steering me in the right path. I know I wasnt easy to deal with but thank you for making me feel no less then the king I am. I know it was tough and that you did your best with what you ha . Just know that I appreciate you and never have and never will take you for granted.
