What does being a father mean to you?

It means being a constant role model for your children. Raising pillars in this world we live in today is not easy.

dear fathers-1000 fearless fathers

Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.

My father was in prison for 25 years of my life first thing he saw me do was graduate college.

What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?

I made a promise to myself that I would not be like my dad. I would make sure that I did what i had to do to be a provider and leader.

Have you had any obstacles on your fatherhood journey? If so, explain.

Yes my oldest daughter passed away when she was 7, that’s the hardest thing I ever had to deal with.

What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?

It’s not easy. You can give your children the love you never had.

If you wanted to write a quick letter to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would you say?

Dear father, I forgive You. I know that you are only doing the things that you were taught and that being a dad is really new to you. Learning what a dad is was new to me as well but we can learn together.
