What does being a father mean to you?
Being a Father means passing on a legacy and experiences that can only be felt by my Son… Raising him with love, knowledge and guidance to affect change in our world.
Describe your experience with your father growing up and how that impacted you today.
When you say “father”, you must mean my Mother because that’s who raised me. She impacted me with her strong but passionate hand… She always made me feel that my words were important. She’s the reason that I’m on the path I’m on in the performing arts. She’s the first one to stand and cheer when success comes my way
What things did you take from your experience growing up into your own fatherhood journey?
Coming from meager beginnings, I wanted to be able to Be FULLY present for my Son
Have you had any obstacles on your fatherhood journey? If so, explain.
The obstacles I’ve faced in my fatherhood thus far is him experiencing me and his mother (not being our best to each other) when we were together because I always wanted him to grow up not ever having this element in his life. Due to this being out of my control made this an obstacle.
What advice would you give others new on their fatherhood journey?
What I would offer to new fathers on this journey is to realize that your children look up to you as their hero. They hang on to every word, so choose them wisely in their presence.
If you wanted to write a quick note to your father, starting with “Dear Father,” what would it be?
Dear Father,
Thank you for never being involved in my life. It sharpened me as a man knowing that I had little to no competition to measure up to… I’ve found more pride and fulfillment in creating my own path. This made it easy for me to be a great father and example to my son.
Name some fathers you cosign.
